Mares Sirius

Post by Mouse51180 »

I got a Mares Sirius computer for a good deal. Unfortunately right now all you can do is download your logs it to their mobile app.

Wasn't sure if Diving Log has started to look into this computer yet, but if I can help since I have the hardware...let me know.

I found some instructions that someone is using for another piece of software. I am going to test it out and see if it works in the mean time. Its just a lot of steps and a lot of going out of your way to try and get the data.

THANKS MARES :x

Steps:
  • Connect Sirius to OTA Programmer App
    • Export logs to email using OTA Programmer
    • You will get a zip file full of otherwise useless .bin files
    • Download zip file from your email - DO NOT UNZIP
    • Open Mares Dive Organizer
    • Using the "Computer" selection in Dive Organizer, import your dive log
    • You must select the entire zip file and Dive Organizer will allow you to select dives to import
    • Select all dives (or dives you want to export) in Dive Organizer and export them
    • Dive Organizer will spit out an XML file
    • Import the exported XML file from Dive Organizer

Mares Sirius support should be available shortly in libdivecomputer and thus Diving Log.

Mares Sirius is now available as beta test. If you want to try it, please download this zip file and copy the content into the Diving Log 6.0 program folder. Please let me know how it works and send me an error log.

Hi

You have to unpair the dive computer in the Bluetooth settings. This computer works only unpaired. Just click on "Download" and it will be found and the download starts.

I unpaired my dive computer from my desk computer and it looked like it went into a download phase, but then it showed a screen that said there were no dives.

Have you tried to disable the option "Only new dives"?

I unchecked the "only new dives" option. When I click the Select button and then choose "Search Unpaired Devices"..It searches and finds my dive computer.
At this point after multiple attempts I tend to get one of two errors. I either get a "DC_STATUS_IO" error or I get the screen saying "Downloading dives" and then I get an error screen that states "DC_STATUS_TIMEOUT". During these attempts I confirmed my Sirius computer stated in the Bluetooth screen and did not timeout to the main menu.

If I try to run the processes again, I can choose the "Search Unpaired Devices" ...select my dive computer...and then it starts to search and after a couple sec. the application crashes and closes out.

I was able to capture the application logs for you on the DC_STATUS_TIMEOUT attempt, but nothing was created on the app crash attempt. I did notice in Windows Event Viewer references to the app crashing and have included those for your review as well.

I tried to download my logs using the Android app. It looks like it starts to download the logs...and then shows the following screen when it gets to the end.

It also says it has error logging is enabled on the mobile app, but I don't know where to go in the phone get these files if they will help as well.

On the PC you can directly click on the "Download" button, without going to the "Select device" dialog. On Android, once error logging is enabled, the log can be viewed and sent from the download dialog in the app with buttons. They appear after you've downloaded with "Log Errors" enabled.

Not sure why it's not working anymore. It seemed to have worked on May 24 in your screenshots. The transfer seem to start and then it interupts for some reason. Sometimes other apps (e.g. the Mares app) or other devices cause issues, so I suggest to try it on one device without other bluetooth enabled devices nearby.

I'm trying to download both a Sirius and an Quad Ci. Neither of them will connect to diving long. Sirius connected once, the first time I tried, and dumped the entire list of dives I'd already logged from another computer, but now diving log times out with both the Sirius and the Quad Ci.

Both are in bluetooth mode.

Bluetooth mode works great for my PPX, so it's definitely an issue between the Mares computers and diving log. Both of them have the up to date firmware.

Any suggestions to get this working?

Hi

You seem to have several Bluetooth computers paired. I recommend to use the "Select" button instead of the "Download" button in this case to ensure the correct dive computer is picked from the paired device list. If you download unpaired, you can press the "Download" button directly when just one dive computer is in reach.

The Sirius can only be downloaded unpaired and right now it is paired in your Bluetooth settings. So to get this one working, you have to delete it from the Windows Bluetooth list, activate Bluetooth on the dive computer and press "Download".

Make sure to select the correct mode as both error logs show the Quad Ci as selected device:

INFO: Start download (BLE): Mares Quad Ci

I'm not sure about the Quad Ci, try to download it paired and unpaired as well and make use of the "Select" window to ensure the right computer is picked.

Kind regards,
Sven
