Suggestion : adding a "Site type" field

Post by JCol »

Hello !

I really enjoy using this app to log my dives, as it mostly satisfies my OCDs

However, would it be possible to have a "Dive site type" field we could fill ? Then we could filter and search for reefs, wrecks, lakes, quarries...

I know this is probably a very niche point of interest, and probably low-prio in the grand scheme of things, but I wanted to pitch my 2 cents in.

Thanks again for your amazing work !

Hi

Thank you for your suggestion! Yes, I think it makes sense to add such a field. I will add it to the list of database updates. Unfortunately those take usually quite some time, as they have to be done in all apps on all platforms, so it is quite some coordination necessary.

Some of these things can be checked in the dive type checkbox list in the dive details (e.g. wreck dive etc.). You can also add custom dive types like quarry as a workaround for now. These can be filtered in the tree browser window.

Kind regards,
Sven

Hi Sven,

Thanks for your swift (and positive) answer !

I was using the method you suggested as a workaround, and it does get the job done for the places I've already dove. However, since I'm using the "not dove yet" feature as a sudo "Dive Site Atlas"/"bucket list", it is not entirely satisfying, as it does not let me filter through the dive sites by category.

Best regards,
Julian
